This Week at Albert Hall
Over the next week, Albert Hall will be delivering a multitude of different genres and artists, diversifying our roster of unmissable performances. Firstly, we have the wonderful homegrown talent that is Antony Szmierek. Not only is Szmierek a skilled poet, he has immense talents in performance and crowd control. Characterised by intelligent lyricism, catchy beats and authentic charisma, there is a reason that this is a sold-out gig tonight. We hope he enjoys this huge hometown show just as much as we will.
On Sunday, Australian singer and songwriter, Ry X joins us in anticipation for his new music in the works. In a career marked by global performances in iconic spaces and collaborations with esteemed orchestras such as the LA and London Philharmonic Orchestras, RY X’s artistic journey reflects a commitment to expression and vulnerability. It is an honour for Ry to choose our venue as part of his UK tour – you can still grab tickets HERE.
Finally, country star Morgan Wade brings her much-anticipated The Obsessed Tour to Manchester. Following years of relentless touring, Wade took time to reflect and recharge, channelling her emotions into her latest LP, Obsessed. Now reinvigorated with a renewed passion for her craft, she’s back on the road, captivating audiences across the UK and Europe this spring. Don’t miss out – a handful of tickets remain HERE.
Sharon Van Etten
Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming back the inimitable Sharon Van Etten, this time with her new band, The Attachment Theory. The night showcased tracks from their eponymous debut album, Sharon Van Etten + The Attachment Theory, alongside fan-favourite classics from Sharon’s solo career, including Comeback Kid, Seventeen, and Tarifa – a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the late David Lynch.
Relive the magic through the lens of our talented photographer, Lucy @lfephoto, who captured the evening’s unforgettable moments.

Just Announced
Max McNown
At just 23, Oregon-born, Nashville-based Max McNown is making waves with his emotionally charged songwriting. Within a year of teaching himself guitar, he released three EPs, earning a spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart with his breakout single, “A Lot More Free”—which recently topped the TikTok Breakthrough USA chart. Inspired by his brother’s battle with cancer, McNown left his small-town life behind, busking on Southern California piers and building a loyal following online. Despite offers from major TV talent shows, he stayed true to his independent path, amassing 80 million streams and a rapidly growing fanbase.
Now, with his debut album Wandering, McNown brings even greater depth to his songwriting. Anchored by his warm, weathered vocals—a sound shaped by countless hours of busking—his music offers a rare ability to ease the mind and strengthen the soul. In moments of self-doubt, he leans on a lesson from his mother: “Singing means you have a happy heart. Even if the song is about something painful, I still feel joy when I sing.” It’s this authenticity that makes McNown’s music a powerful companion through life’s most vulnerable moments. Join us on December 3rd for his debut Albert Hall performance.
Matt Berninger
Best known as the vocalist and lyricist for Grammy Award-winning band The National, Matt Berninger is celebrated for his poignant songwriting, jagged-edged wit, and hauntingly emotive melodies. With a career spanning ten studio albums—including First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track, both released in 2023—Berninger has cemented his place as one of indie rock’s most compelling voices. His critically acclaimed solo debut, Serpentine Prison (2020), showcased his brooding, soulful artistry. Now, fans can anticipate his second solo album, Get Sunk, set for release in May 2025. Berninger brings his singular, multidisciplinary artistry to Albert Hall on 26 August 2025—a night set to blur the boundaries between music, poetry, and visual expression. You can listen to his new single, Bonnet Of Pins, set to be released on his new album in May.
