Over the past month we have been rather quiet… but fear not, our gig calendars are slowly but surely filling up with lots of new gigs, comedy shows and Bongo’s Bingo!

Last week, we celebrated Independent Venue Week, to recognise the importance of smaller venues to the ecosystem of the UK’s art scene, and how these smaller venues contribute to artists careers to then go onwards and perform at spaces of our capacity and bigger. We invited artists OneDa, Antony Szmeirek and Yasmin Coe to share their thoughts on IVW, read about them and the local venues that have shaped their careers so far.

Over the weekend we hosted our first club nights of the year, Friday saw Kaluki x Planet X invite tech house heavyweights Ben Stirling, Prospa and Fletch to our stage. This show marked the start of a tech house takeover, followed by FLOW on the 7th of March and Eastenderz on the 19th of April.

On Saturday Garage Nation hosted another knock-out club night too, legends Artful Dodger, Sweet Female Attitude and DJ Luck & MC Neat were some of the artists that took to stage and played some absolute throwback bangers. It’s been a heavy weekend here at Albert Hall but we do not have plans to slow down anytime soon!

So, what’s coming up? Louie Vega & The Elements of Life comes to Albert Hall on the 8th of February, a global concept that has his name circulating the electronic music scene due to amassed success. Featuring a multitude of talented artists, this can only be described a creative mix up of hip hop, house, jazz, funk and soul. He invites Tom Malam, DJing from when we open the doors, and Ben Westbach as his support – final tickets are here!

Over the next few weeks we have a varied selection of gigs for you to choose from, first up is a SOLD OUT show with Warren Zeiders on the 11th of February, an American country artist known for his seamless blend of rock and roll. He consistently sells out his gigs, and this one is no different – Known for his impeccable stage presence and grit-fueled lyrics this gig is going to be exciting and refreshing for us!

Next up is Alexis Ffrench on the 12th of February, he is a classical performer who has recently released Classical Soul Vol 1, an album dedicated to his personal life. The album is set to take the listener on a journey filled with nostalgia and warmth. Alexis will be performing on a grand piano, and his support Pinsleep will perform a dark and ethereal piece on her violin, mixed with vocals and electronic hums. Tickets are still available here!

That is it from us this week, we’ll be back with more exciting news next week. In the meantime, why not follow us on social media and sign-up to our newsletter to keep up to date and to be the first to hear about announcements!
