By blending electronic elements with baroque touches she’s crafted an idiosyncratic and much-loved sound that shows just how expansive pop can be. Like a noir-Stevie Nicks, there’s always a dark undercurrent flowing behind the trumpets, tambourines and cellos – a morose sense of loss and longing imbibes her lyrics, and new album ‘I Never Learn’ once again sees her intimate confessionals captivating the world over.
