Young Fathers return to Albert Hall for their rescheduled show on 23rd Jan. All tickets remain valid and if more become available they’ll be sold here.
A rap group from Scotland??? Young Fathers absolutely broke the musical mould when the released their early mixtapes (‘Tape One’ & Tape Two), the latter of which winning Scottish Album Of The Year without technically being a proper release! It was their use of distinctive lo-fi beats and esoteric poetic lyrics that set them aside.
Next up, the Mercury Music Prize for debut album ‘Dead’ – a challenging record that had music critics oozing praise and ensured they’d have a long slow-burning career. Despite the nomination, they’ve picked up fans organically, not because of industry hype, as people warm to their challenging take on the hip hop aesthetic.
Another huge stepping stone was their inclusion – the most featured act nonetheless – in Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting 2! Latest record ‘Cocoa Sugar’ was their highest charting to date, and we’re absolutely delighted to be part of their journey with this show!
