In Conversation With: One Night In Nashville

Country fans from across the country and around the world are flocking to One Night In Nashville - a night that offers to immerse you into all the eccentrics of the wild west, right in the comfort of your favourite local venue. But, how did this come to be? We're chatting to co-founder and director, Maria Jordan, on how the celebration came to be

Since she was a child, Maria Jordan – Director and Co-Founder of One Night In Nashville – has had her eyes on one thing: working on and around the stage.

Starting out her career as a solo act and performing at iconic Manchester venues such as Night and Day Cafe, Maria used to be relentless in chasing down opportunity. After securing a record deal early in her career, she self-funded a trip to the States, where she was able to get a taste of Nashville in all of it’s glory: Broadway, Honkytonk tunes, the lot. However, the success didn’t follow. That’s when she began creating her own opportunity.

Her taste of the States had left her in a trance, and her goal shifted to how she could bring this experience across the pond.

“We are the original and first Nashville experience in the UK. Me and my husband Dave – a musician in his own right – realised that people of the UK hadn’t the ability to experience the Honkytonk glory even if they’d like to, and well, the rest is history!”

The show went through various formations and formats through it’s early years, starting out at the Wagon Wheel in Chester as a theatre-level experience, where they found the crowd to be disappointed that One Night In Nashville wasn’t just your standard, run-of-the-mill Country and Western show. It moved on to various venues across the North West, but what audiences struggled to grasp was that this isn’t just a tribute night or a spectacle; it’s much more beautiful – an experience rather than a performance.

“The show is unique as the place we’re singing from inside is a place of love, like, a true and genuine adoration for Country. Not just the music, but the culture as a whole, and we have the authentic experience to fuel it”

From there, they took it to nightlife; being approached by beer cellars and spaces across the North West. Slowly, they expanded – first to Sheffield, then to Halifax, gradually building a following along the way, having recently taken to festivals like Kendall Calling and Chelmsford’s Summer In Nashville as their popularity began to rise.

“My life goal has always been to perform. There’s nothing like it in the world. Getting that crowd reaction, be it from 5 or 5000 people, it’s the type of energy that drives you forward, no matter how tough times are. You have to accept you’ll fail as part of the process – there’s no shame in it!”

Thankfully, days of struggle are a thing of the past for Maria, as her performances One Night In Nashville are as popular as ever – spending Summer on stages up and down the country and across Europe, living the dream.

One Night In Nashville first made it’s way to our stage in 2025, which proved to be a milestone moment:

“To be performing at Albert Hall was a dream come true. Performing at my favourite local venue – a truly ‘made it’ moment. It was so full-circle to be on the stage that I’ve watched so many talented musicians perform on.

I even have a tattoo to commemorate the occasion!”

The One Night In Nashville experience returns to our stage  on April 24th, for another milestone gig as park of their upcoming UK tour.
