Formerly British Sea Power, the band now sail forth as Sea Power, and their back with a new album too. We’re delighted that they’ve chosen to play on our stage once more following the success of The People’s Concert. They’ll be here on Saturday 23rd April 2022!
The new name is a modest gesture of separation from the wave of crass nationalism that has traversed our world recently according to the band, wanting to allay any ideas of nationhood as insular or jingoistic.
The new album will be called ‘Everything Was Forever, and is due for release on 11th Feb 2022. The first single from the record is called ‘Two Fingers’, and is a potential anthem for these troubled times. The words take in mortality, defiance, HP Lovecraft, and V Signs – as a sign of contempt but also a V for Victory.
