Having won the hearts of the nation when they were crowned winner of Season Four of Drag Race UK and with their time spend in the celebrity big brother house, Danny beard is nothing short of a national treasure. Now, they're bringing all of the brass humour they're known for to our stage, for a special, high-production show with The English National Orchestra. It's shaping up to be the night out of the year...
Ahead of Danny’s visit to Albert Hall, we sat down for a rundown on everything the show’s about, from what to expect, to the vibes, to what this show means to the star
“It’s giving classy, it’s giving elegant, it’s giving musical”
Where might we have seen you before?
“You might’ve seen me on the streets of Canal Street, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Celebrity Big Brother…”
What can we expect from this show?
“It’s me. It’s 25 beautiful musicians, with beautiful songs arranged orchestrally… I don’t know what that means but someone at the top does! We’re gonna give you a bit of Raye at The Albert Hall, different Albert Hall, don’t wanna say it’s nicer, it’s just different… and chaos is guaranteed.”
What does this show mean to you?
“Deep down to my core I am a musical theatre girly. I’m all about giving the best night out possible.”
What can we expect to hear?
“Musical theatre gays, we got you covered. The pop girlies, we got you covered. We’re gonna split the show into two halves; opening with all of your favourites from the West End, before moving into a specially curated run through of the pop divas. We’re talking Kylie, we’re talking Britney. Good music, good vibes, good times.”
Who are you going to be channeling?
“Great question. Probably a bit of Jane McDonald, bit of Liza, bit of Adele, bit of Queen, bit of ABBA. Basially, anyone that’s gay.
